This week M+K sits across the table with Claire Lettice, Co-Founder + CEO, &SISTERS. She talks with us about cooking, creativity and community.

1. My cooking inspiration…

Anna Jones.

2. A meal that reminds me of home…

Fennel risotto. It’s a great recipe for using up veggies as assuming you add enough fennel, lemon and chilli, the result is always an overriding fennel tasting risotto. Also, it’s super easy so the children and husband have also always been able to make it.

3. A life lesson cooking has taught me…

The freshest and best ingredients can take the simplest of dishes to another level.

4. When I want to be creative I…

Need peace and quiet!

5. The most transformational book I’ve read is…

It’s an old one…EVEolution by Faith Popcorn. I’ve found the ideas set out in this book totally ring true, but sometimes we need to be reminded.

6. The routines that keep me grounded are…

A cup of tea in the morning and a bubble bath before bed.

7. I recently learnt…

The key to keeping my sourdough starter alive.

8. Favourite random act of kindness…

Neighbourly support, there’s nothing like it!

9. To make a difference in my community I…

Founded &SISTERS and we have come so far, but there is still a long way to go with our charitable work. We donate 10% of our profits to charity, both in the UK and abroad. We are currently working closely with a charity called ‘Women & Girls’ who supply period products to women in India.

10. Right now, I’m grateful for…

Digital technology! Our website has kept us running all throughout lockdown. So even if customers can’t visit retail stores they can still shop online. We even adapted our packaging to fit through the postbox. Periods don’t stop for pandemics!

&SISTERS is a feminine care brand with a difference! Started by daughter-mother duo Lucy Lettice and Claire Lettice. They produce period products that are ethically and socially conscious and aim to educate women in making positive choices that are better for their bodies, the planet and for womenkind. Their products are made by women for women.
